GRANTSBORO - M. Thomas Banks, 79, of 856 Roberts Road died Tuesday, March 8
at his home. A funeral service was held Friday, March 11 at Reelsboro 
Christian Church with the Rev. Riley Green officiating with burial in 
Green-Banks Cemetery.  
He retired from the NC Department of Transportation and was a member of 
Arapahoe Masonic Lodge.  
He is survived by two sons, Furney Banks and Arliss Green, both of Bairds 
Creek; daughter, Rosalie Scott of Reelsboro; four brothers, George Banks of
Vanceboro, Joe Banks of Hampton, VA, Norman Banks of Cary and Evon Jones of
Marion; five sisters, Betty Johnson and Ruth DeCamp, both of New Bern, 
Sadie Holton and Marie Powell, both of Grantsboro, and Vona Baysden of 
Raleigh; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
