Nellie Christine Batson Broughton, 97, of Alliance died Friday, February 4 
at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by one son,
Bruce Broughton of Reelsboro; two daughters, Kay Jones of Dunn and Billie 
Hardy of New Bern; one brother, Roy Batson of Stonewall; one sister, 
Lavada O’Connor of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren 
and four great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held February 
6 at Sandhill cemetery with the Dr. Robert Cayton officiating.
