RALEIGH - Olen Leo Watson, Sr. was born December 13, 1920 in Lowland, NC. 
He departed this life March 1, 2001.  
He was a graduate of Hobucken High School in Pamlico County. 
He worked as a commercial fisherman plant manager at Watson's Seafood and 
Poultry Company and State of North Carolina Department of Transportation. 
He also founded and served as President/CEO of Watson's Apartments.  
Olen was a member of the Brooks Avenue Church of Christ.  
Olen is survived by his wife, Nancy Lamm Watson; six daughters, Ann Fair, 
Betsy Rose, Rose Marie Black, Ada Sorrell, Gail Johnson, and Mae Cruz; one 
son, Olen Watson, Jr. three brothers, Merritt Watson, Roy Watson, Kelly 
Watson, Jr.; four sisters, Nellie Cahoon, Ruby Allsbrook, Marjorie 
Eggleston, Bertie Dougherty; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by a son Roy Lynn Watson; daughter, Baby Watson; 
brother, Ebern Watson, Sr.; and sister, Gladys Irene.  
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. 
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Montlawn Funeral 
Home. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.  
Services entrusted to Montlawn Funeral Home.
