Oscar Smallwood Winfield, 86, of the 900 block of Burksdale Road, died Aug.
23, 1999, in a local hospital.  
Mr. Winfield was born in Oriental, N.C. A painter, he had retired from 
civil service. He was a member of the 60 Plus Club of Norfolk. 
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Winfield; a sister, Ella Napier, and 
a brother, William Winfield, both of Virginia Beach; and several nieces 
and nephews.  
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial 
Gardens by the Rev. Joyce Kramer of Tidewater Unity Church. 
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
