PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Ousbon Andrew Bateman Sr., 84, died Thursday, March 
24, at Tiffany Hall.   
He was born in New Bern and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 
1979, coming from Virginia. A member of the Fleet Marine Reserve, he was a 
disabled veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 30 years in 
World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic 
Church.   
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Aycock Funeral Home, Port St.
Lucie.  
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Vero Beach, Fla.   
He is survived by his widow, Nerys Bateman of Port St. Lucie.; three sons, 
Joseph Bateman and Allen Bateman of Florida and Ousbon Bateman Jr. of New 
York; one daughter, Cathy Tranchida of New York; nine grandchildren; three 
great-grandchildren; one sister, Elisa Willis of Florida; and two brothers,
Ray Bateman of Florida and Leamon Bateman of Georgia.
