Paul Henry Johnson of Minnesott Beach is survived by his wife of thirty 
years, Gail (Carter) Johnson; two brothers, Richard Johnson and Ronnie 
Johnson, both of Burlington NC; and two sisters, Arlene Quakenbush of 
Lexington, SC, and Barbara Flack of Burlington, NC.  
He was the son of the late Walter and Neta Johnson. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Neta Johnson, and by 
five brothers and three sisters.  Most of his life he served the public.  
A Naval veteran, he served in both World War II and the Korean War. He 
taught at Technical College of Alamance at its inception and was the 
founding president of Pamlico Community College. He served Minnesott Beach 
one term as mayor plus several terms as town commissioner, and in Pamlico 
County, five years as commissioner. In addition, he was a founding board 
member of Pamlico Golf and Country Club, and president of the Pamlico 
Chamber of Commerce for seven years. He was a Mason of Bayboro Lodge. 
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff and residents of 
Gardens of Pamlico for the care and concern Paul received. A celebration 
of Paul's life will be held at Pamlico Community College on Sunday May 1, 
2011, at 2 p.m. with full Masonic Rites.
