Obituary of Peggy Elizabeth Griffin Ormond ~ 2012

Peggy Elizabeth Griffin Ormond, 79 of New Bern, died January 11, 2012 at 
CarolinaEast Medical Center. 
She was a member of Clarks United Methodist Church. Peggy was an avid cook 
and seamstress and she enjoyed fishing. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Ormond, a great-
granddaughter, Ashlie Ormond and her brothers and sisters, Mattie Mae Ritz,
Dorothy Griffin, Willis, Tommy, William and Buster Griffin and two brothers-
in-law, Randolph and Raefield Ormond. 
Peggy is survived by two sons, Frank Ormond and wife Nancy of Minnesott 
Beach; Curtis Ormond and wife Phyllis of Aurora; eight grandchildren, Wendy
Wells and husband Joe of Cove City; Jennifer Haddock and husband Allan of 
Greenville; Ray Ormond and wife Michelle of Maryland; Curtis Ormond, Jr. 
and wife Tina of Aurora; Robert Ormond and wife Jenn of Morehead City; 
William “Buddy” Ormond and wife Ann of New Bern; Joey Register, John 
Register and wife Shannon, all of Vanceboro; special niece, Pearl Bell of 
New Bern; her sisters in-law, Louise Ormond and Audrey Ormond, both of 
New Bern; 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and special
pet, Blackie. 
Services were held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Cotten Chapel with Rev. 
Mike Register officiating. Burial followed at New Bern Memorial Cemetery. 
The family received friends one hour prior to the service and at other 
times at her home.
