Obituary of Queenie Isabell Sawyer ~ 2008

Queenie Isabell Sawyer, 78, of 232 Alfred Road, the Maribel community, 
Bayboro, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Pitt Memorial Hospital, 
Greenville.  
She was a lifetime member of Antioch Christian Church where she served on 
the Usher Board. She was employed with civil service aboard Cherry Point 
as a shipping-receiving supply clerk.   
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the 
Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. James Heath officiating. Burial 
will be in the Sawyer family cemetery.   
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Sawyer of New Bern and James Sawyer 
of Bear, Del.; three daughters, Violet Sawyer of New York, N.Y., Vandella 
Diggins of Willingboro, N.J., and Judy Newell of the Maribel community; 16 
grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Davis of 
Bayboro.  
Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Rivers-Morgan 
Funeral Home, New Bern, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the 
church.   
The family will receive friends at the residence.
