ORIENTAL - Ralph Stewart Ackerman, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Two 
Rivers Healthcare, Trent Campus, in New Bern.  He was a member of Oriental 
United Methodist Church. He was past commodore and member of SCOO in 
Oriental.  He is survived by two sons, Stew Ackerman Jr. of Bloomsburg, 
Pa., and Jeff Ackerman of Castine, Maine; one daughter, Lynn Mullany of 
Gainesville, Va.; one sister, Sallie Crawford of Walton, N.Y.; six 
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be 
held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Lou Mac Park in Oriental 
with the Rev. Keith Sexton officiating.  The family will receive friends 
in the park one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements are by Bryant 
Funeral Home & Cremations, Alliance.
