Obituary of Richard "Captain Hook" Ray Powers ~ 2010

GRANTSBORO - Richard "Captain Hook" Ray Powers, 80, died Tuesday, July 13, 
2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.  
He was a member of Faith Christian Assembly of God.  
He is survived by three sons, Clifton Powers of Greenville, Richard Powers 
II and Jeff Powers, both of the home; three daughters, Wendy Buck and 
Denise Bird, both of Bridgeton, and Donna Williams of Washington; one 
brother, Teddy Powers of Grantsboro; two sisters, Willie Shaw and Bobbie 
Poole, both of Grantsboro; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Paul Cemetery in 
Silverhill with the Rev. Bob Case officiating. The family will receive 
friends immediately following the service.  
Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Cremations, Alliance.
