Obituary of Roger "Bud" Wyatt McDaniel Jr ~ 2009

Roger "Bud" Wyatt McDaniel Jr., 66, of Oriental died Saturday, January 10, 
2009 at home.   
He was a graduate of N.C. State. He served in the U.S. Army during the 
Vietnam war. He was awarded the Silver Star medal and Purple Heart. 
He was owner of In Home Aide Care. 
He was a loving husband, great father and awesome Papa.   
He is survived by his wife, Diane B. McDaniel; one son, Layton J. McDaniel 
of New Bern; one daughter, Sarina McDaniel Green of Beaufort, N.C.; two 
brothers, Jan Harrington of Wilmington and Marion Harrington of Kinston; 
one sister, Linda McDaniel Lee of Winston Salem; four grandchildren, 
Olivia Dawn McDaniel, Lainey Grace McDaniel, April Renee Simpson and 
Jeremy Dwayne Simpson.   
A memorial service with military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, 
January 13 at Oriental United Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Graves 
officiating. 
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
