Obituary of Rosa Lupton Swindell ~ 1987

HOBUCKEN – Rosa Lupton Swindell died Friday at her residence.  
Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, at Hobucken Pentecostal Holliness 
Church with the Rev. W. H. Lewis and the Rev. Henry Carroll officiating.  
Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. 
She is survived by two sons, Leadrew Swindell, Jimmie “Nook” Swindell, 
both of Hobucken; four daughters, Sally Jane Brown, the Rev. Magdalene 
Jones and Abby Leary, all of Hobucken and Josephine Pate of Bayboro; one 
brother, Fenner Lupton of Hobucken; sisters, Rena Evans of Bayboro, Odessa 
Ford of New Bern, Millie Hopkins of Greensboro, Elizabeth Lupton of 
Lowland, Veroma Swindell of New Bern and Missouri Gaskill of Hobucken; 21 
grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  
The family will receive friends between 7 and 8:30 tonight at Norris 
Funeral home, Alliance.
