ORIENTAL - Rosetta Stokes Green, 68, of 1427 Broad St., died Sunday, April
10, 2005, at her residence.
She was a native of the Florence community and a 1955 graduate of Pamlico
Training School. She was a member of Zion Hill U.C. of Christ and Pierce's
Chapel AME Zion Church.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Pierce Chapel AMEZ Church with the Rev.
James Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in the Jones Family Cemetery.
She is survived by five sons, Marvin Stokes Sr. and James R. Green Jr. of
Oriental, Carlton S. Green of New Haven, Conn., Reginald T. Green of Cape
May, N.J., and Gregory D. Green of Arapahoe; two daughters, Bridgette Green
of Oriental and Tesia Cooper of Goldsboro; six brothers, Von Stokes,
Bradford Stokes and William Stokes, all of Merritt, Ervin Stokes of Aurora,
Colo., Roosevelt Stokes Jr. of Bayboro and Dewey Stokes of Reelsboro; two
sisters, Erma S. Bell of Bayboro and Laverda S. Woods of Killen, Texas; 16
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Viewing will be noon to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at
Oscar's Mortuary, New Bern.
