Obituary of Sarah Elizabeth Spencer Green ~ 2007

ORIENTAL - Sarah Elizabeth Spencer Green of 910 Midyette St., Oriental, 
died Monday, September 24, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center at the 
age of 101.  
She was a native of Mesic and resided in Oriental for over 80 years. 
She was a member of Pierce Chapel A.M.E.Z. Church and served as a 
deaconess. Her enjoyment was in her love for her family, God and her gift 
of a long life. Her singing and sweet spirit will never be forgotten.   
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pierce Chapel A.M.E.Z. Church, 
Hudson St., Oriental, with the Rev. James Cannon and the Rev. Andre Green 
officiating.   Burial will be in Styron Town Cemetery, Oriental.   
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Greene and Samuel Lee Greene, both 
of Oriental; five daughters, Parthina Coleman, Esther Bryant, Victoria 
Greene, Thelma Greene, all of Oriental, and Annie Cooper of Merritt; 37 
grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren.   
The family will receive friends at the residence.  
Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Oscar’s Mortuary and at the 
church an hour prior to the service.
