Obituary of Sara Emma Hill Lupton ~ 2006

BAYBORO - Sara Emma Hill Lupton, 77, of Bayboro departed this life to be 
with her Lord February 10, 2006.  
She was a member of the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Whortonsville 
and attended Bayboro United Methodist church.  
Born to Ed and Cleora Hill on the eighteenth Day of April 1928, Sara grew 
up in the community of Whortonsville. Upon graduation from high school, 
she married her childhood sweetheart, James and together they raised their 
three children: one son and two daughters. 
During the early child-rearing years, she was employed as Postmaster at 
the Whortonsville Post Office. Later in life during the 1980's she served 
as a volunteer at Fred A. Anderson Elementary School. Sara enjoyed working 
in her yard and spending time with her family.  
A funeral service was held Monday, February 13 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Free 
Will Baptist Church in Whortonsville with the Reverend Steve Willis 
officiating. Interment was in Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  
She is survived by one son, J. Bruce Lupton, and wife, Dianne, of 
Stonewall; two daughters, Brenda L. Stevenson, of New Bern and Paula L. 
Woodard, and husband, Alan, of Bayboro; one brother, Edward F. Hill, and 
wife, Norma, of Elm city, N.C. Grandchildren include Kelly Horner, and 
Husband, Kenny of Vanceboro, J. Brian Lupton of Grantsboro, John P. Lupton 
of Stonewall, Third-class Petty Officer Mark R. Lupton, and wife, Laura, 
of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ashlynne Woodard and Jordan Woodard, both of 
Bayboro. Great-grandchildren include Kenlee Horner, John Patrick (J.P.) 
Lupton, Jr., Aslynn Lupton and Madeline Lupton.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lloyd Lupton, Jr., and a 
dear son-in-law, Joe C. Stevenson, Jr. She was also preceded in death by 
one brother, Vaughn T. Hill, and three sisters, Daisy Hill, Zulia Hill 
Lupton and Hilma Hill Lupton.  
The family received friends at Bryant Funeral Home in Alliance on Sunday, 
February 12 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
