Obituary of Shirley Simpson Muse ~ 2004

Shirley Simpson Muse passed away at her home in the community of Pamlico 
on February 10, 2004.  
She is a native of Pamlico County where she and her husband were owners of 
C. M. Muse Seafood. She grew up in the community of Silverhill and also 
lived many years in Bayboro and Pamlico. She loved gardening and cooking 
but her greatest love was her family.  
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carlton Muse; daughters, 
Teresa Cooney, and her husband, John, of Bayboro, and Suellen Muse of 
Raleigh; one sister, Dora Brady, and her husband, Paul, of Pamlico; former 
daughter-in-law, Debbie McCotter of Vandemere; and three grandchildren, 
John Russell Cooney, Bryant Cooney and Carly Muse. 
She was preceded in death by her son, Carlton M. Muse, Jr.  
A memorial service was held at Pamlico United Methodist Church on Friday, 
February 13 at 2:00 pm. The family received friends at the church one hour 
prior to the service.
