Smith "Smitty" Creech, 80, of Arapahoe, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 
CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oriental. He enjoyed golfing, 
playing bridge, traveling and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Poole Creech; one son, Gerald "Jerry" 
Creech of Greenville; two daughters, Bobbi Creech Chinn of Beaumont and 
Judith "Judy" Mewborn of Rocky Mount; three brothers, John Creech of 
Benson, Hugh Creech of Goldsboro and Ronnie Creech of Smithfield; one 
sister, Joyce Pittman of Pine Level; three grandchildren; two 
step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home, 226 Pinewood Drive, 
Minnesott Beach.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to 
a charity of your choice.
