MARIBEL – Stoie "Bill" Gibbs, 74, of 170 Alfred Road, died Sunday, 
February 29 at Craven Regional Medical Center. 
A funeral service was held Saturday, March 6, 2 pm, at Antioch United 
Church of Christ in Maribel with the Rev. James Heath, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the Sawyer Family Cemetery.  
He was a member of Antioch United Church of Christ and served as a deacon. 
He was a retired construction employee.  
He is survived by his widow, Rosetta S. Gibbs of the home; two sons, Billy 
Gibbs of Maribel and Tyrone Gibbs of Raleigh; three daughters, Shirley 
Davis of Maribel, Amy Scales of Fayetteville and Bettie Jo Moore of 
Washington, NC; one brother, Hilton Gibbs of Mesic; two sisters, Josephine 
Smith and Sarophine Swift, both of Mesic; 12 grandchildren; and 13 
great-grandchildren.
