Sylvia Gilgo Roberts, 59, of Oriental, died Tuesday at Craven Regional 
Medical Center.
She was a friend to many. 
She was a member of the Oriental United Methodist Church, Sanddollar 
Circle, Worship Committee and a substitute teacher for 30 years.  
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oriental United Methodist Church with 
Revs. Walter Graves and Stan Brown officiating.  
Burial will be in Oriental Cemetery.  
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Roberts Sr.; one son, Clyde Earl 
Roberts Jr. and wife Sandy of Wilmington; one daughter, Sheri R. Hale and 
husband Chris of Oriental; four brothers, Paul Gilgo of Walkertown, George
Gilgo of Oriental, Jack Gilgo of Arapahoe and Jimmy Gilgo of Morehead City;
four sisters, Blanche Bissette of Newport, Jane Bragg of Rocky Mount, 
Billie Anderson of LaGrange and Peggy Hutson of Greensboro; and one 
granddaughter, Kayla Ann Hale.  
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday night at Bryant 
Funeral Home and other times at the home.
