NEW BERN - Thelma Miller Jones, 63, of 1504 Antioch Road, died Thursday, 
Nov. 12, 2009, at her residence.
She was a graduate of Pamlico County Training School Class of 1963 and 
George Washington University. She retired from the U. S. Courts,
Washington, D.C., after 35 years of employment. She was a member of 
Without Limits Christian Center.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Bern Eastern M.B. 
Association, with the Rev. James McIver, pastor, officiating. The burial 
will follow in St. Stephen M.B. Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Jones Sr. of the home; one son, 
Mark Miller of Freder-icksburg, Va.; two stepsons, Michael Jones, Chicago, 
Ill., and Thomas Jones Jr. of Georgia; two stepdaughters, Sherri Mims of 
Bayboro and Edith Jones of Georgia; two brothers, Wade H. Miller Jr. of 
Oriental and James Miller of Gatesville; and five sisters, Marilyn 
Gaskins, of Raleigh, Viola Moore and Annie Cannon, both of Oriental, Joyce 
Credle of Bayboro and Grace Barfield of Salis-bury, Md.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 10 
a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Oscar's Mortuary.
