NEW BERN - Thomas Jones Jr., 79, of 1703 Ashville St., formerly of 246 
Park Ave., Mesic, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Two Rivers 
Healthcare-Neuse Campus.
He was formerly employed at NADEP, Cherry Point, Troy Potter Farms and a 
self-employed lawnmower technician.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with the 
Rev. C.A. Felton offi-ciating and Mattie J. Tatum, eulogist. The burial 
will be in the Mesic Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Thomas N. Jones of Cape May, N.J.; daughters, 
Esther Lovetta Jones, Mattie J. Tatum and Freda E. Jones, all of New Bern; 
one sister, Ella Louise Cooper of Mesic; 16 grandchildren; and 16 
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 9:30
a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Oscar's Mortuary.
