PURCELLVILLE, VA. - Thomas "Bruce" Mayo, age 65, died January 31, 2012 at 
Heritage Hall. 
Born on April 8, 1946 in North Carolina he was the son of the late Jesse 
and Effie Mayo. Bruce loved his career as a disc jockey and was known as 
Eric O'Day on the radio.
He was predeceased by one daughter Michelle Mayo, brother Troy Mayo and 
sister Helen Harris. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Margaret Mayo 
of Purcellville, Va.; step-daughter, Davida Cox Burkhammer of Stafford, 
Va.; one grandchild, Jared Burkhammer; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, 2 p.m. at 
Hollywood Cemetery, Olympia, NC 28560.
