Obituary of Velna Estelle Rowe Brite ~ 2003

Velna Estelle Brite of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, February 2, 2003, at 
her residence.
She was born January 24, 1916, in Pamlico County, NC, daughter of the late 
Levi and Sally Muse Rowe and was also preceded in death by her husband, 
Joseph Mitchell Brite; two sisters, Vera Lee and Hazel Anderson; and a 
brother, James Rowe.  Mrs. Brite was a loving mother and grandmother. 
She was an avid gardener which brought her much peace and contentment.
Surviving are her two sons, Wiley Mitchell (Sonny) Brite of Ocean Isle 
Beach, NC, and Joseph Larry Brite of Wilmington, NC; two daughters, 
Madeline Budihas of Middleburg, FL, and Carolyn Gaiser and husband Bill of 
Hampstead, NC; seven grandchildren, Christopher Budihas, Michael Budihas, 
Karen Teed, Tony Brite, Heather Thomas, Meredith Gaiser and Allyson Gaiser;
eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Levy Rowe; and two sisters, Fanny 
Tingle and Edna Gaskill.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003, 
in Greenlawn Memorial Park by Rev. Karen Howell and Rev. Curtis Campbell.
The family will be at the residence, 901 Parkway Blvd.
