Vernon Madison Swindell, 72, of New Bern, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at 
his home.  
Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Barnett Cemetery in Hobucken 
with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating.  
He is survived by his widow, Lillie Ireland Swindell; son Vernon M. 
Swindell, Jr. of New Bern; brother Samuel Swindell of New Bern; two 
sisters, Alma S. Ferrell of Small and Lynda S. Bray of New Bern; his 
mother, Massie Swindell; one grandchild and one great grandchild.  
Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home and Cremations of Alliance.
