Wilbert "Tap" Johnson Sr., 65, of 3106 Madison Ave. died Monday, Sept. 15,
2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Pamlico County and was a retired logger.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Piney Grove Church of
Christ DOC with the Rev. Farris Slade and the Rev. Freddie Hackney
officiating. Burial will be in Earl Blango Sr. Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Wilbert A. Johnson Jr. of the home; five
brothers, Earl Blango Sr., Roosevelt Johnson, Otto Johnson, Bubba Johnson
and Winston Johnson, all of Arapahoe; three sisters, Geneva Styron of
Oriental, Alean "Monk" Hodge of Arapahoe and Pauline Gardner of Reelsboro;
and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Bubba and Alfreda
Johnson, 7483 Kershaw Road, Arapahoe.
Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and
at the church one hour prior to the service.
