Obituary of William Hubert Cooper ~ 2011

BAYBORO - William Hubert Cooper Sr., 74, 281 Swan Point Road, died Wednesday, 
Dec. 21, 2011, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.  He was formerly employed 
at Five Points Milling Co. and the City of New Bern Maintenance Department;
and was the oldest deacon at St. Peter Baptist Church Ministries.  
His funeral will be noon Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at St. Peter Baptist
Church Ministry, Aurora, with the Rev. Barry Squires, pastor, and the Rev.
William H. Cooper II, eulogist. The burial will follow in the Broad Creek 
Church Cemetery, Oriental.  
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Jones Cooper of Maribel; three sons, 
William Stanley Jones of Bayboro, Timothy Respers of Durham, and William 
Hubert Cooper II of Raleigh; two daughters, Kathleen Becton of Oriental 
and Qunnie Parker of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Carrie Sawyer of 
Bayboro, Elmon Arnetter Smith and Geneva Shy, both of New Bern; 10 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at the residence of William and Kathleen 
Becton, 2919 Trent Road, Oriental. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 
p.m. Saturday, at Oscar's Mortuary.
