ORIENTAL - William Ralph Deaton, Jr., MD., 78, of 701 North Street, 
Oriental, formerly of Greensboro, died Monday at his home.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Oriental 
United Methodist Church, with Rev. Stan Brown officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Fran K. Deaton; three sons and daughters-in-law, 
Bill and Amelia Deaton of Pleasant Garden, NC., Bob and Michele Deaton of 
Oriental, and John and Karen Deaton of Oriental; three daughters, Susan 
Deaton of Devon, PA., Ann Deaton of Houston, TX., Beth and her husband, 
Ron Scullin of Warrenton, VA.; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. 
He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Steel of Durham, NC.; and 
his aunt, Sara King Smith of Miami Beach, FL.
