Obituary of William E Fulcher ~ 1998

HAMPTON - William "Bill" E. Fulcher, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998.
He was a native of Pamlico County, N.C., and had been a resident of
Newport News for most of his life. Mr. Fulcher retired in June 1980
from Newport News Shipbuilding as a machinist after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church, Hampton.
Bill served in the U.S. Army with the 29th Infantry Division from D-Day to
the Capture of St. Lo, July 18, 1944. He received his honorable discharge
August 26, 1945. For all who knew him, he was a character. His family and
friends will always fondly remember him as a happy and giving man. We will
always keep him close in our hearts. We love you.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Fulcher; his
son, Johnny Ray Fulcher; and two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Fulcher is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Pallie L. Fulcher;
his daughter, Myra Libby; two sons, James and Adriene Fulcher; three
stepdaughters, Sybel Hunt, Sharon Pletcher and Violet Parrish; two
stepsons, Gerald and Charles LaBoone; two sisters, Rosa Rice and Melba
Wiggins; his brother, W.B. Fulcher; six grandchildren, Michele, Robin,
Alan, Neil, Anthony and Melissa; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and
Erica; and a special niece, Shirley Waller.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula
Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the
funeral home by the Rev. David Bounds. Burial will follow in Parklawn
Memorial Park.
