Obituary of William A Hodges ~ 1991

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. - William A. Hodges, 86, of 1410 Hurley St. died 
yesterday in Halifax Memorial Hospital.  
His wife, Helen (Smith) Hodges, died in 1971. 
He leaves three daughters, Clara Mae Collins of Roanoke Rapids, with whom 
he lived, Leatha H. Smith of Chesapeake, Va., and Drucilla H. Farquhar of 
Westboro, Mass.; a sister, Mamie H. Taylor of Washington; three 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. 
He was born in Pamlico County, son of Thomas J. and Fannie D. (Lewis) 
Hodges, and lived here many years. He then lived five years in Westboro 
before returning here in 1971.  
Mr. Hodges was a longtime carpenter for several construction companies in 
the Roanake Rapids and Westboro areas before he retired.  
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Branch Funeral Home, 
839 Jackson St. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. Calling hours at the 
funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight.
